Forget-me-not - general description
Forget-me-not belongs to the borage family and can be either one-year or two-year-old. An erect, branched stalk is covered with protruding hairs and reaches up to half a meter in height. The roots of the plant are short, pivotal. The successive leaves have a gray-green color and when they only hatch from the kidneys, they are very similar to mouse ears.
Forget-me-not flowers collected in inflorescences are usually pink, blue or white with a yellow core. It blooms from late May to mid-June. There are varieties of forget-me-nots in which flowering continues until the beginning of autumn. Fruits - black or dark brown nuts of a trihedral ovoid shape with shiny black seeds inside, ripen in June.
Forget-me-not - types and places of growth
In the world there are up to 50 species of this plant, in the territory of the former USSR - 35 (in the Caucasus, the European part, in Central Asia and Siberia). Forget-me-not grows in humid areas - in damp forests, on marshy fields, roadsides and along river banks. Prefers sunny places with fresh soil.
In addition to field forget-me-nots, scented forget-me-nots, Krylova, Sakhalin, related, Lazistan, are pleasant and rarely flowered.
Forget-me-not - healing properties
Forget-me-not is used only by traditional medicine. This plant has a hemostatic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory effect. With its use, perspiration is reduced, and inflammatory processes are stopped. Forget-me-not helps effectively with cough, chronic bronchitis, toothache, pulmonary tuberculosis (with emaciation and strong night sweat), intestinal tuberculosis and hemoptysis. Outwardly - with dry eczema, skin rashes, eye diseases, scorpion and snake bites. Forget-me-not juice treats genital and oral tumors.

For medicinal purposes, use the entire terrestrial part of the plant (leaves, flowers and stems), collected during the flowering period. After harvesting, the grass is dried in a shaded place, spread in a thin layer.
