Scientists are sure: caffeine is the only effective component found in energy drinks. Due to this particular supplement, they help us cope with fatigue and become more resilient. The whole secret is only in large concentrations of the ingredient, on average 14 times higher than those doses of caffeine that are added to other soft drinks.

The main goal of the research conducted by Chicago experts was to thoroughly study the properties of the main additives used in the production of energy drinks. Among them, in addition to many vitamins and other compounds, special attention was paid to ginseng, guarana, glucuronolactone and taurine - substances that are considered effective stimulants of the body and supposedly temporarily increase the physical and mental abilities of a person.

The findings of the experts, published in the American journal Nutrition, were very unexpected for many fans of power engineers. In the report, experts report: “We analyzed dozens of scientific articles, books and the results of earlier studies, but did not find any direct and reliable evidence of the effectiveness of these ingredients, with the exception of several weak and rather controversial claims about the benefits of glucose and guarana extract. Caffeine is the only component whose properties cannot be doubted. A generous dose of this substance does have a significant effect on the functioning of the body, and in its properties may well replace a can of energy drink. "
